This tutorial will teach you how make text follow a path of your choice. This
effect can be great for logos and such but it's only available to users
using Photoshop CS or newer.
There's a few different ways to do this although only two methods will be explained.

Step 2: Select the Freeform Pen tool
by right clicking on one
of the pen tool icons
in
the tool bar and clicking on the Freeform pen tool.

Step 3: In the options menu (go to Windows->Options if it isn't available) select Paths.

Step 4: Left click and drag your cursor in the document to create the path in which the text will follow.
Example:

Step 5: Select the Horizontal Type tool
from the tool bar and place the
cursor over the beginning of the path. The cursor should change when over the
path. Simply left click while the cursor is over the path.
Step 6: Type the text you'd like to follow the path and click on the checkmark
in the options menu.

Step 2: Select the Custom Shapes tool
by right clicking on one of the
shape tools in the tool bar and selecting it. (ex: Rectangle Tool
, Ellipse Tool
, etc..)
Step 3: In the options menu (go to Windows->Options if it isn't available) select Paths.

Step 4: Select the shape you'd like to use for the path the text will follow by clicking on the downwards facing arrow beside "Shape:" and clicking on the shape.

Step 5: Create the path of the shape by clicking and dragging the cursor in the document. You can hold Shift while doing this to constrain the shape to it's normal aspect ratio.

Step 6: Select the Horizontal Type tool
from the tool bar and place the
cursor over the beginning of the path. The cursor should change to instead of
when over the path. Simply left click while the cursor is over the path.
Step 7: Type the text you'd like to follow the path and click on the checkmark
in the options menu.

[note: The path will show when the text layer using the path is selected. To see what the text looks like without the path, simply select another layer.]
And there you go! You've created your own text that follows a path of your choice. Try being creative with this effect to come up with some very original designs. Here's an example of a signature that uses this effect:
