Gamexe.net Tutorial Contest #2 Details!



It's time for Gamexe.net to hold its second Tutorial Contest! After seeing how successful the first was, I figured I'd do it again. But why am I holding this? For a couple reasons. The most obvious is that I'd like to encourage some friendly competition and participation on the forums, as well as to offer a gift to aspiring designers and programmers for their hard work. But why a tutorial contest? Because Gamexe.net is all about sharing resources and knowledge, and I'd like to encourage other users to do so too!

On to the details...

The Gamexe.net Tutorial Contest is exactly what it sounds like. It's a competition in which users submit tutorials/how-to's relating to technology: from graphic design to programming, game development to windows tweaks. After the entry deadline, a poll will be created to represent the public opinion of the Gamexe.net members as to which user's entry they think is the greatest. Voting will span a few days, in which time all users will be encouraged to submit their opinion. As only the name of the user will be displayed, if a user favours any of his/her tutorial entries, he/she would vote for that user. This allows for additional potential for those who would like to submit multiple works. And at the end of the voting period, 3 winners will be announced. Of those winners, 1st place will receive $40, 2nd $20, and 3rd $10 as well. All entries will then be added to the collection of tutorials on Gamexe.net for the public to admire, with proper credit of course, and hopefully with some success we'll start a third contest shortly afterwards.

Rules & More
Please review the rules, even if you've participated before. They've changed from the previous.

• Users MUST have at least 5 posts to enter the contest.
• Users may submit as many tutorials as they wish.
• The tutorials must have been written by you yourself. No ripping will be tolerated, and any attempt at such will result in a ban from the forums.
• The tutorials should be newly written, and tutorials already on Gamexe.net are not eligible. You may not submit tutorials already published elsewhere.
• Only images and text will be accepted. Images must be a maximum of 700px in width. No video tutorials permitted.
• Tutorial subjects must be technology related, and the subject matter may not be illegal or inappropriate. Subjects include programming, graphic design, game development, marketing, operating system optimization, etc. If you'd like to ask if yours is appropriate, ask in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1988
• During the voting process, each member will be permitted only a single vote. Spoofing will not be permitted, nor will the creation of other accounts for the purpose of voting. Users will be banned if such occurs, and their entry will not be permitted to win.
• Users are encouraged, during the voting process, to notify as many friends and others as possible as to promote the contest, or even encourage voting.

• All entries of quality will be published on Gamexe.net.
• You maintain the rights to the work, and will receive credit via author details. You may also include credit in the tutorial itself.
• We, Gamexe.net, reserve the right to refrain from publishing an entry at our discretion, including such cases where the work is deemed unfit.
• We also reserve the right to commit modifications to the disclaimer and/or rules at any given time if deemed necessary.

Payment Details

Payment will be made in USD funds and may be sent via paypal, cheque or cash. Although the first two options are prefered, cash may be chosen, although Gamexe.net will not be held responsible if the amount is lost in the mail. Payments may be made to the winner, or to a parent or guardian if specified.
