because that would split their user base even further than they did with the Go. Developers would now have to choose whether to create a game thats playable on the older, non touch screen system (with the large install base) or the newer, touch screened system (smaller, uncertain install base) That would create more issues than it would solve. BTW the Go has already been hacked, so keep your fingers crossed that somebody figures out how to install a CFW on it

The PSP Go has taken a lot of criticism as current PSP owners may not want to upgrade because it leaves their UMD collection worthless..

^^ I disagree.
Yes it would suck if you already had a nice collection of UMD based games, but if you wanna keep them, don't get a Go, Sony isn't discontinuing the PSP 3000 and are even working on a PSP 4000 (with UMD support)
But for someone like me, who did everything off the memory stick to begin with... (I only had 1 actual UMD) the Go is actually pretty convenient.

It's nice to not have to lug around UMD's where ever you go, but when your parents aren't spoiling you to death and you aren't old enough to get a credit card, it's pretty hard to get games. :/

Ahh... well the Go definitely is not targeted at people who don't have a credit card or at least have access to one.
There are game cards you can buy in some stores, that come with a code thats printed on the back. (scratcher style) and you put that in under 'Redeem Codes' on your PSN account and it adds the game to your account.

I hate it. I'll just stick with the 300 since i hacked it and i just download all my games FREE. the problem is almost all the new games takes like 3 months to get to the web. and that it wastes memory space...
