Nook's Tasks

Your first task in your new village is to work part-time for Tom Nook. You must do each of the jobs he asks you to do in order to be free to do whatever you wish. The tasks are great ways to earn a few items and bells when you start your life in the stranger filled town. If you're having a hard time locating a villager or location, you can always check the town map by the local train station or police station before you obtain a map of your own.

*note: When performing the tasks, it's best to keep the work uniform on in order to avoid upsetting the prideful store owner.

Spiff up the Ol' garden
You first task as Nook's employee will be to plant some flowers and saplings around his shop. Although it doesn't matter where you place them, it's always a good idea to arrange them so that they look nice for the visitors. In order to plant something, stand where you want to place the plant, press Y to access your inventory, Press A on the item you wish to plant and press A while selecting the option 'Plant'. You'll receive 80 bells for the job.

Greeting the Neighbours
The next task is to introduce yourself to all the villagers. Feel free to view the town maps in order to accomplish this little job. You'll have to visit all those with a house and Tortimer, the town mayor.

Fast Furniture
After visiting the villagers, go back to Tom Nook's to receive your next task. You'll have to deliver some furniture to one of the villagers. After delivering the item, you'll receive a token of appreciation from the happy neighbour. Once you've completed the task, head back to Nook's for a reward of 230 bells toward your debt.

Got Mail?
Your next job is to write a direct mailer about Tom's shop and sent it to one of the animals. Write your letter using the stationary he gives you and mail it by paying a visit to the post office. You'll earn 130 bells for a job well done.

Village delivery
Because of the speed you finish your jobs at, Nook will need some time to prepare the next delivery. In the mean time, you should chat with the locals, asking if they have any work for you. The tasks will normally consist of having something picked up or delivered and the rewards will provide you with some more items.

Carpet trading
After completing a few tasks for the villagers, head back to Tom Nook's shop. Your next job will be to deliver a carpet to an eager villager who will then give you his or her old carpet. You'll earn another 580 bells from Tom for the job.

Somebody ask for an axe?
Your next job is to deliver an axe to the same villager that you sent the direct mailer to. After the villager acquires his or her axe, he or she will comment on the direct mailer you sent. After the chat, return to Tom Nook's to earn 230 bells.

A marketers touch
Your final job with Tom is to write an ad for Tom Nook's shop. Go to the town bulletin board to write the eye-catching text. Finish the final task to breath the fresh scent of freedom.
